Short answers to what matters. For anything about how UTS handles your data, we follow the official notice below.
Who owns what I make?
You do. Your products, code, content and designs are yours. Your work is your responsibility. UTS Startups and the RVC programme take no ownership, no equity, and no licence to your work. This is separate from the reflection artefacts you choose to submit -- see below.
I've never done this before, what if I can't do this.
You do not need previous business, product or coding experience to apply. Each week you choose a Level that reflects your experience with that topic, then take one concrete action. A Level is a self-assessment, not a rank or something you unlock.
Does joining RVC make me a UTS Startups Incubator member?
No. UTS Startups membership is a separate, independent application at startups.uts.edu.au. RVC does not guarantee membership, workspace access, offers or event invitations. If an optional opportunity is available, we will describe it at the time.
What happens to my reflections?
Your application video is covered by the separate confirmation on the application page. If you are admitted, it may be shared inside RVC with participants and mentors, including in your Discord welcome.
Weekly reflections you later submit are visible inside RVC participant spaces and may be used there as examples of work. Neither confirmation gives RVC ownership of your underlying product or IP. Any external or public reuse, including social media, requires separate permission.
Do I have to submit an application video?
Yes -- a short video is a required part of applying. It is your introduction, not an audition. Your submission is received and may be reviewed to filter out obviously fake submissions. If you have any concerns about your video, speak to Aaron.
What about the tools RVC suggests?
Missions may point to third-party tools (YouTube, Discord, marketplaces, etc.). Using them is your call, and their terms are yours to read.
Is this professional or financial advice?
No. RVC is an educational programme. Nothing in it is professional, financial, legal, or investment advice. You make your own decisions and are responsible for your own outcomes.
How is my personal data handled?
RVC is a UTS Startups programme and follows the UTS Startups Privacy Notice, reviewed by UTS Legal: UTS Startups Privacy Notice. It covers what is collected, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and how to access, correct or delete your information. Questions about your data, or to request deletion: rvc [at] uts.edu.au (the RVC team can action data deletion). Removing your information may also mean you can no longer remain in the Rapid Value Creation programme.
